Guit-orchestra Music by Sergio Assad

 
 

We are thrilled to present music from The Walls by Sergio Assad for the final participants’ concert of the 26th New York Guitar Seminar on Thursday, July 2.  We are even more thrilled that Sergio Assad will be leading the rehearsals every day and conducting the performance!!!

Participation in this piece is open to everyone who is a full participant of the guitar seminar.  We will prepare three of the movements: The Great Wall of China, Hadrian’s Wall, and Middle Eastern Walls. Part I is sometimes marked “divisi,” indicating that some people will play the upper part of the divided Part I and some people will play the lower part of the divided Part I, but for most of the music the upper and lower parts of Part I are identical. The same is true with Part V.

Please review the parts, decide which part you would most like to play at the guitar seminar, and let us know your main choice, plus a backup choice in case too many people want the same part.  You will play the same part for all of the movements.  Let us know by email at: mannesguitar@newschool.edu
